I have experienced being of two minds when I was OBE. I was floating above the bed, with awareness of my physical body laying below and I was simultaneously in my physical body, looking upwards.

I was so amazed at this, that I woke up laughing aloud...it's hard to imagine, isn't it, but it happened.

To experience two of you who are both OBE is slightly different. I have never experienced this. Are you trying to talk to yourself...tell yourself something, maybe re-capture something of the `past you'? The sight of the grass in the gym suggests this, in my opinion, and also the fact that one `you' was desiring to be in a relationship.

Dear Karen,
A friend of yours referred me to you from another forum. I have been looking for someone like you for a long time. I have never met anyone who helped others cross over. I too had a lucid OOBE where I was in a gray room, three tables. A woman, who 'worked' there, made an adjustment to the back of my neck and then I lay down upon the middle table. From there, I left my body,saw my body on the table, saw my 'astral' form which was Golden with sparkles inside. I was there to help someone - I knew. And when I woke up, I was so sad to be back in my body. Thank you for writing this. I am so glad to have found you! ~GoldenLight~

I do believe that one thing that points to the possibilty that we are existing in more than one realm simultaneously is this experience, from your closing comment: "I feel a gentle change in energy, and now realize that I’m NOT fully awake, so I force myself to full awareness. That little seed of doubt about my reality is always a clue that I’m not fully back to awareness, and I use it to either move into another experience or to full wakefulness "

I have had this feeling of `reality shift' many times during waking life, and doubtless most other people have, too......sometimes feeling more in body than other times. Typically a shift such as this can be felt when undergoing trauma or physical illness.

I think this is one clue that presents itself to us from time to time and shouts of a reality behind reality, something that we begin to withdraw into, at times.

Bless you Karen and yes, where you are is totally appropriate for your spiritual growth. I've always been somewhat awestruck by the insights you've shared and this is another one. It really resonates with me.

Thank you for your friendship and thank you for opening yourself up through turbulent times. No, we are never given more than we can handle and each experience is designed to be a vehicle of growth.

Hi Karen. If this is my dream or OBE, I would think that the best way to clarify any question I have is to go back in. I would see myself back in that location with the young boy and ask him what he means and let the experience play out. I'm having a wonderful time exploring the many threads of info your blog has presented to me, including some new OBE experiences of my own. So glad we met at Robert's workshop.

"in the event of cell death" could refer to physical death, i.e. death of the cells. The boy being upset might refer to the "return to" part.

If your feeling was it meant return to "parents", he could have been upset about returning from an NDE when he wanted to stay where he was.

Or returning to the non-death state was not desired because he had finished his life and wanted to move on.

Ha! How ironic that this experience of seeing your own iris and having a rough ride with so little control is special to such a semi-self-controlling astral wanderer as yourself!

Such OBE experiences as seeing my own eye via the porthole have been run-of-the-mill to me, as a take-control impoverished OBEr.

Yes, I have had the `astral' seeing many times, despite the fact that I am unable to influence 95% of my experiences when `out'.

I feel that this astral seeing through a porthole is strongly associated with 3rd eye/brow chakra activity. I find that this exxperience is often followed upon waking by a lingering, small, bright image that floats in front of my eyes for a few seconds.

Interesting. You `opened' and something talked back...you...or/and something else!

Sometimes, the world talks back. I feel I had a `sign', yesterday! I sat on a bench in a local park and to stretch my neck I looked right up at the sky above me. Behold, a maple leaf was helicoptering its way across the sky above, and so very aerodynamically. Amazing - we have invented so much that is inspired by the `nature' around us; in fact, I suppose that practically everything we make has a naturally occurring origin. I also read on the Robert Moss site that many great scientists were inspired by their own dreams! Similar, eh?

I knew this was a special moment - a sign of something; the world was talking to me, as it has talked to you here...this is your `guidance', whether it's from you or something else, who knows. Dreaming is a way of receiving these messages, if they don't present themselves during normal waking life.

I was taught many years ago that with the right focus, things like the truck experience could occur. When the experience begins, there must be, either consciously or unconsciously, the pure intent to go through the experience without harm. As you describe it, you were doing this without knowing to do it, so some deeper part of you was in action protecting you for a purpose.

Yes, I primarily do WBTB method after sleeping for 3-4 hours to get the 'deep sleep' over with. However, I have also done this with naps (on a rare opportunity to have one!), and early morning after waking.

Reading your blog this morning had me contemplating a number of things I've recently read on projection.

Sometimes people get frustrated with their progress but maybe periods of limitation are not just for the well being of the projector but also for the welfare of deceased people, especially the children.

Imagine if your little one had been drawn to somebody who, in their fear, saw the child as a negative entity and took action accordingly. Such things surely cannot be allowed to occur!

Part of the effect is explainable by the model of the different energy bodies. Let's say you're in an etheric environment (dense) with the etheric body (dense). It is solid. But if you're there with the astral body (subtler) you can pass through. When you raise your vibration you might pass to a different body altogether (from dense to subtle), even if you feel the change to be more continuous. Of course you can see this model more like an aid for understanding rather than the whole truth.

So, it's not so much "being out of body" but "which body you are being in in which environment" that determines your degree of freedom. At first this would only seem true for the degree of freedom of movement. But the same is true for the mind. "Higher" bodies on "lower" planes also enable you to seemingly break the rules in that the higher body is not bound by the rules of the plane as it is not of that plane. And similarly, you also carry a degree of knowledge and lucidity that surpasses that of the surrounding plane. You come down to the etheric plane with the astral body, you can have a much higher degree of lucidity, because to the astral body filter on your conscious awareness it is much more apparent what the nature of the etheric plane is.

Similarly, higher vehicles place less and less filters on your consciousness. It's like removing layers of thin cloth to let the light of your consciousness shine through.

Yet usually we don't experience the presence or absense of such filters/bodies directly, we just experience a difference in capability, clarity and lucidity that we cannot quite explain. Furthermore, until the higher vehicle is more fully developed it might at times seem less or even way less capable than the lower ones due to the limitations experienced during the process of mastering it. It's like trying to detect that you lived in a colored soap bubble all the time by changing the color once in a while, and sometimes the bubble is more obscured and less, but you have never seen reality without one. It's not easy to spot but over time the skill develops.

Hello, Karen.

The encounter with the kitten might have been a symbolical message. It might have been a reminder that your state of mind was too distracted (like a kitten easily is) and somehow you picked up on that and found the right state of consciousness after all.

The two old ladies seemed to be processing something, that's why every item they handled brought up memories. The memories and the processing might have been the actual reason for them sorting through the stuff. The little boy might have been "an element of distraction" present in the sorting process, and maybe you aided their concentration by bringing him back. Children can be symbolic of the elemental nature of the energy bodies, especially when being resistant or distracted/ing, and bringing back the child could be the same as actually aiding someone's concentration/one-pointedness. You may have actually harnessed a "wandering mind."

Diving from the high mountain area to the valley below might be an indication that you changed plane or subplane. The degree of lucidity and mental clarity in this adventure might indicate that you were in the mental body. The mental body is closely related to our everyday consciousness, so I would tend to think that this decreases the problem of state-specific memory, fostering better recall both on return and while in the experience. You shared a very similar "memory space" as when you are awake.

Wow, that was a huge post! But thank you. It was very informative. I love your tips on getting oob using the twilight state. That's how I do it. I also liked how you got stuck in that wall. I thought that problem was unique to me. The last 2 times I've tried to jump thru my mirror, I've gotten stuck =(
